Jerg-Ratgeb-Award to Hartwig Ebersbach

The Leipzig painter Hartwig Ebersbach receives the Jerg-Ratgeb-Award of the HAP Grieshaber Foundation, worth 20 000 Euro. The award, founded in 1976 by Grieshaber, is conceived as one of the most prestigious awards for fine art in the German-speaking region. Previous laureates were, amongst others, Emil Schumacher, Wilhelm Loth, and Lucian Freud. Ebersbach, aged 66 years, is honoured for his complete works that is seen as ranking among the most distinguished positions within German art.
